Delivering the Lee Tunnel, Britain’s largest water engineering project for 20 years
Morgan Sindall, as part of joint venture MVB, is delivering the Lee Tunnel, Britain’s largest water engineering project for 20 years. The £635 million project (worth more than £208 million to Morgan Sindall) involves the construction of a four-mile length of tunnel to prevent more than 16 million tonnes of sewage mixed with rainwater overflowing into the River Lee in East London each year. The project includes five shafts, which are up to 75 metres deep, and is due to complete by the end of 2015.
The biggest and one of the most significant construction projects in Europe
The biggest construction project in Europe and amongst the most significant infrastructure projects ever undertaken in the UK, Crossrail will transform the way people travel around London. The Pudding Mill Lane project comprises the construction of a tunnel portal and a new Docklands Light Railway station at Pudding Mill Lane, plus associated structures to bring the subterranean railway into the above ground existing rail network. The project is also linking new Crossrail tunnels to the existing Network Rail infrastructure.
This forms part of the £14.8 billion Crossrail project to construct a new railway connecting the existing rail networks in East and West London.

When I first came here I was temping on a year out before starting a psychology degree. After a couple of months I was offered a permanent contract and the chance to do an HNC, followed by my CIPD. Staying here has offered me a more structured educational route, and made more sense financially.
I support my customers – who are the employees in Utility Services – from initial offer and advice on joining the business to benefits, payroll and general advice. I’m mostly office-based, although I do travel. I really enjoy interacting with the people at the sharp end. I see myself being here for the long run.
I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else.
