Your development

We have designed our programme to ensure that you get the best possible start to your career with us. During the 30 month programme you’ll be constantly helped and supported by an experienced colleague who will mentor you.

Our Graduate Development Programme is made up of five main elements:

Management development, focusing on developing your personal effectiveness;

Safety, health, environment and quality, where you’ll learn crucial information about minimising personal risk to everyone on site;

Technical, designed to equip you with core competencies and skills for our business such as measurement, BIM and design appreciation;

Ambassador duties, giving you the opportunity to share your experiences at external events and in schools;

Professional development, in which you’ll work towards registration with the professional body relevant to your discipline.

Undergraduates

We offer undergraduate students a structured, twelve month industrial placement programme that provides you with an outstanding introduction to the industry, offering exposure to all aspects of our business. Many of our placement students receive final-year sponsorship, making our programmes a great route to a permanent role on graduation. Programmes are available to students studying a broad range of subjects:

Commercial management and / or quantity surveying
Construction management
Civil engineering
Design management
Architecture
Chemical engineering
Mechanical engineering
Electrical engineering
Building services
Instrumentation and control engineering

During your time with us you’ll do real work, learning from an experienced mentor on a programme of development structured around your discipline. All our programmes are regularly updated based on the feedback we get from the people who take part – which means they’re tailored to ensure you get the maximum possible value. And you’ll receive the benefits you’d expect from a full-time job, like a competitive salary and twenty-six days’ holiday (plus the usual bank holidays).

Vacation placements

As well as our twelve month programmes, we offer placements of up to three-months during university vacations in the same disciplines as those listed above.
