As a Morgan Sindall trainee you’ll study for a day release qualification. In addition, you’ll be enrolled on our in-house Morgan Sindall trainee development programme – this consists of four modules that will help you become more effective in solving problems, influencing others and presenting your work, so you’ll learn how to make an impact on the business right from the outset. As your career develops, you’ll be registered on an appropriate professional development programme. You will receive support from qualified mentors and will work towards professional registration on one of our approved or accredited structured professional training schemes.
You’ll also become a Morgan Sindall ambassador, where you’ll represent Morgan Sindall at careers events at local schools and colleges. This is a great way to further develop your confidence and presentation skills.
Our apprenticeship programmes cover all areas from trades to professional and business.
Whether you are looking to pursue a career in a traditional skill like carpentry or bricklaying, or pursue a career in civil engineering, quantity surveying and construction management, apprenticeships are credible alternatives to degrees if you want to build a career in the construction industry. You’ll spend most of your time on-site, with the technical aspects of the course delivered on a day-release basis.
If you’re interested in forging a career in business administration or ICT for example, why not make a start in construction? Programmes are flexible and you can be taught and assessed entirely in the workplace, or you can attend college one day a week. On many programmes you can start work at any time throughout the year.
Our apprentices enjoy a combination of practical, on-the-job learning and first-class teaching. You’ll spend one day in five in the classroom, where you’ll receive the instruction you need to build and develop your skills. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn and, best of all, you’ll have the chance to make new friends and start building your professional reputation amongst colleagues, customers and subcontractors.
Applications should be made via our online system and include an up-to-date CV and covering letter. Your details will be reviewed and if you are successful you will be invited to interview.
Academic requirements are specified on each vacancy. In addition, applicants need to be committed, have a passion for a career in the construction industry, be prepared for further study and realistic about the amount of work that is required.
Our trainees and apprentices study a wide range of qualifications ranging from accredited degrees and HNCs through to NVQs and professional qualifications.
