Our Apprentices enjoy a combination of practical, on-the-job learning and first-class teaching. You’ll spend one day in every five in the classroom, where you’ll get the instruction you need to build and develop your skills. But you’ll start working on-site as soon as possible, putting your training into practice under the careful mentoring of experienced Engineers.

Your college fees and travel costs will be covered, and because you’ll be doing real work you’ll be paid a salary for the work you do on-site. You’ll get a minimum of twenty-one days’ paid leave a year, plus all the usual bank holidays. But best of all, you’ll get the chance to make new friends and start building your professional reputation among colleagues, customers and subcontractors, establishing a firm foundation on which you can build a career.

What you can learn?

Your development

Our Apprentice Programmes are designed to build the practical abilities, academic development and people skills that will help you progress naturally. Starting with an introduction to the business and its values, you’ll learn about how successful people operate and how you can make best use of your skills and attributes. The programmes are broken down into three elements:

Management development, consisting of five modules that will make you more effective in solving problems, influencing others, and presenting your work – highly useful and transferable skills wherever life takes you. The ability to manage and mentor others is a skill that comes with time and experience, but we’ll equip you with the tools that you need to make an impact on the business right from the outset.

Professional development, the structured professional training scheme appropriate to your job role or discipline.

Ambassador duties, where you’ll act as an ambassador and represent Morgan Sindall at careers events. You’ll speak directly to people and help them decide whether what you do might be right for them.

Good learning isn’t about memorising facts for the sake of it; that’s why our programmes are interactive and teach you the skills you need to get your career off to a flying start.
